HOMECOMING ENTRY...AFTER A WEEK'S HIATUS

• My boss, Bev, from Omaha is here on site.  As usual, she brought Reese's peanut butter cups for me.  This may be her last visit here since she has handed over the responsibilities to Pat.  She'd probably be back but not as often as she did.  It dawned on me that I will miss her tremendously.  When I was in Omaha, she treated me as though I was one of her kids.  And in "nana's house,"  the kids and the grandkids are spoiled...so you probably have an idea as to why I had so much fun staying in the Midwest.  I've never had a "cooler" boss than Bev.  She's a biker woman with 3 Harleys to boot.  She also drives a gorgeous Corvette...which she didn't allow me to drive for obvious reasons.  She has an honest-to-goodness gorgeous Midwestern farm that has pigs, cats, and a dog that gets excited too easily haha!  I had so many fun moments with her which may or may not involve Tequila, singing our hearts out and some crazy dancin'.  Darn, I'll miss her.  I'm cookin' (and this is the only type of cookin' I know) up a plan to make this visit of hers quite special then usual.  It involves pictures, sandy beaches, and probably just a couple (yeah right) of Tequila shots.
  
• Mommy Beth's surprise birthday party was a blast.  Prior to the actual event, we all had to sit through the management meeting with her.  She was wondering why we were all in green (her favorite color).  Obviously, we cannot divulge the real reason so we just told her that it's a HUGE RANDOM COINCIDENCE...right.  We decorated the pantry with balloons and a huge tarpoline containing pictures of her and the team.  The caterers were there on time and the presentations were "supposedly" fine...until my laptop's batt got drained...good job Audrey!  Mark, one of the presidents, and Matt, one of the VPs were there, too.  So there...the whole thing was a success to say the least.  Even our "song" numbers were quite "heartwarming" hehe.  There were a lot of laughter, hugs, photo sessions (yeah, there were 4 digital cameras...go figure), hobnobbing and a little bit of pimpin' (thank you JP for this...now, two men who we work with are thinking that I have the hots for them...right).  The party only lasted for two hours...after all, we were "at work."  I spoke to Mommy Beth afterwards, and she said that she loved it and she loves us.  Anything for someone like you, Mom. Oh, the pictures shall be posted here soon...I'm waiting for the owners of the other 4 digicams to send me their piccies. *paging Alex, Scot, and Mommy Eden!!!*
  
• I just got a call from Des, one of my friends from college, and she's asking me to watch their gig on Wednesday next week.  Apparently, it's Licketysplit's (yup, that's their band's name) last gig with all the original members intact.  Lap, one of my close friends back in college and the band's bass player, is migrating.  People have been leaving or have left...there was Eartha, then my sister, then Mabel and now Lap.  Stop leaving people!!!  Goodbyes suck.
  
• The stranger who keeps leaving me creepy messages on my voicemail has stopped after we reported the incident to his phone provider.  He seemed like he's a troubled man.  I hope things will turn out well for him.
  
• I've been having really great (to say the least) conversations with someone lately.  If he's reading this and he thinks it's him...all I can say is "feeling mo!"  Hahaha.  But you're right, it's you.  Thanks for buying my book "How To Make Karen Laugh Volume 1."  Because of you, I've been having early morning laugh out loud spasms daily.  It's all good.  Go buy Volume 2!  And stop making pa-cute.
